TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM

Sanilac County Department of Veterans Affairs provides dependable transportation to county veterans to and from all non-emergency medical appointments.  We pick up and drop off at key points within the County.  You can call the office with your appointment date and time, and we will do our best to schedule you transportation.

Please give enough time for our scheduling demands.  We prefer to be contacted one month prior to your appointment time but will try to accommodate all needs. We can also help you to get appointments rescheduled to coordinate with our transportation schedule.

Upon calling for scheduling have available:

• Name
• Social Security Number
• Destination
• Date and Time of Appointment
• Up to date contact information

 Requests for Passengers:

• Arrive promptly
• Be courteous of others especially if you are required to wait
• Call ahead of time for changes or cancellations
• Sorry but at this time we are unable to accommodate passengers that are confined to a wheelchair
• If you are experiencing any sort of viral symptoms, please reschedule your ride   

 **The office will call the day before your appointment to give you the leave time and pickup location. We MUST have a current phone number.  If you do not have one it is your responsibility to make sure you call and get the transportation information by 4:00pm the day BEFORE your scheduled appointment or the ride will be CANCELLED.
